Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone is the first book in the Harry Potter series.
It is authored by JK Rowling and is an amazing book. It is humorous, and also provides a lot of lessons.
This book is about a boy named Harry Potter who has no parents, and who on his eleventh birthday discovers that he is a WIZARD.
He is invited by Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, where he comes to know that his parents were killed by Lord Voldemort, the most feared wizard.
At Hogwarts, Harry makes new friends who help him to know more about his dead parents.
One of the best lessons I learned from this book is about COURAGE. There is a scene in the book, where the lesson comes out clearly.
There is a boy named Neville Longbottom, who gets a Remembrall (a ball that helps him remember the things he has forgotten) at Hogwarts, the magic school.
There is once a class for younger wizards where they are taught how to fly on a broom. Harry and Neville are among them. Another boy attending the class is Draco Malfoy.
When they are in the practice, Neville has his Remembrall in his pocket. When the teacher is teaching, Neville accidentally starts flying on his broom, which he cannot control.
After being in the air for some time, he falls off the broom and gets hurt. His Remembrall falls out of his pocket to the ground. When the teacher sees this, she immediately takes him to the hospital. Meanwhile, Draco picks up the Remembrall and keeps it in his pocket.
Harry comes to him and asks him to give back the Remembrall. “Give it back, Draco, it belongs to Neville, Harry says.
Hearing this, Draco starts flying on his broom and challenges Harry to get it back from him. Harry, despite not knowing how to fly the broom, shows great courage and takes off to get the Remembrall back from Draco.
When he is almost about to catch Draco in the air, Draco throws the Remembrall in the air and says to Harry, “Catch it now!”
Harry then flies very fast and catches the ball in time. A teacher sees Harry doing this.
Young wizards and witches were not allowed to fly without permission, but the teacher takes Harry to a room and says he must become a Quidditch player because of your fast catching skills. Harry becomes the youngest Quidditch player.
So here was the lesson about how Harry Potter displays the courage to bring back his friend Neville’s Remembrall.
There are many more such lessons in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.
I hope you like the one I shared.
Bye friends!
